6-Story Building Collapses In Sur Following Turkish Army Shelling

(ANF) A six-story building has collapsed in the Savaş neighborhood of the Sur district of Diyarbakır following a heavy bombardment by the Turkish Army.

Turkish security forces are shelling the area from positions around the Class Hotel in the  Savaş neighborhood as well as from the Mardinkapı Elementary school in the Hasırlı neighborhood. As a result of the heavy bombardment a six-story building located near the Haci Hamit Mosque is understood to have completely collapsed.

There are reports that civilians were inside the building but that rescuers have been unable to reach the scene owing to continued shelling from the Turkish army.
YPS forces defending the Sur district are continuing to resist despite the fact that entire district has been surrounded by Turkish forces.
