KCK: The Mayorship Of Ceylanpınar Is No Longer The Major Problem

(ANF) In a new statement the KCK has argued that the Mayorship of Ceylanpınar is no longer the major problem and the more serious problem is a Turkish State policy which “wants to turn Ceylanpınar into a base for El-Nusra and other armed groups in order to prepare for an assault on Rojava.”However the KCK statement also reiterated its earlier call that the uprising (serhildan) continues until a fair election can be held, reading “the AKP’s policy is a general policy which goes beyond Ceylanpınar. Therefore it is a general attack. For this reason is a question of national honor that the meaning of the resistance and uprising does not remain within borders of Ceylanpınar but is carried unrelentlessly through the four parts of Kurdistan.”

A Policy That Goes Beyond Ceylanpınar

The statement issued by the KCK’s Executive Council read: “The AKP state and all the main parties have carried out attacks with the intention of occupation and genocide that has as its target to break the will of the Kurdish people. A colonialist law is being implemented in Kurdistan.  The AKP has occupied the town of Ceylanpınar with soldiers and police. They want to turn Ceylanpınar into a base for El-Nusra and other armed groups. This is without a doubt a policy developed around the question of Rojava. There are preparations for an assault on Rojava. Our people and all public opinion should understand it thus. For that reason the problem has gone beyond a problem of a mayorship. This picture is clear for all to see and it contains a gang with bloody hands. In this sense the uprising of our people in Ceylanpınar is very important. We are calling on all of our people and all capable fronts to increase the struggle against the AKP’s tyrannical and dirty policies which are not directed towards preparation for an assault on Rojava. The AKP’s policy is a general policy which goes beyond Ceylanpınar. Therefore it is a general attack. For this reason is a question of national honor that the meaning of the resistance and uprising does not remain within borders of Ceylanpınar but is carried unrelentlessly through the four parts of Kurdistan.”

The Serhat Region

The statement also draw attention to the BDP’s success in the Serhat region of Kurdistan – or those regions of Kurdistan in Eastern Anatolia along the border with Armenia and Iran. It also pointed out AKP attempts at election fraud – both on behalf of itself and the MHP – and its continuing attempts on the part of the AKP to claim victory in Ağrı, despite 13 separate recounts confirming the AKP victory. Despite many setbacks owing to fraud and dirty tricks, the statement reiterated that “the people of Serhat and foremost in Ağrı are, as is been seen throughout history, a people of honor and resistance and will resist to the end.”

Resistance Should Be As Widespread As The Attacks

Finally the KCK called on Kurds to resist the attempt by the Turkish state and the AKP to break the Kurdish people’s will for democratic autonomy, saying “until the election results are properly established every Kurdish patriotic and friends of the Kurds should be on their feet.”
