Children Collect Gas Canisters to Get By

After battles between protesters and police, children are attempting to collect and sell the gas canisters that have killed and maimed so many, according to a report in Özgür Gündem.  The children, often from poor families, hope to sell the capsules as scrap metal in order to earn a small amount of money. The photograph above was taken of children after protests in Nusaybin against the “wall of shame” last week.
